16 Years in Behavioral Health — A Journey of Purpose and People

Recovery happens in relationships — between providers, partners, families, and the brave individuals who choose healing every day.

After 16 years in behavioral health, I've learned that the most meaningful work isn't about hitting numbers or closing deals. It's about connecting people who need help with the people who can provide it.

The Journey

I started in direct care — working hands-on with individuals in recovery. That experience shaped everything that came after. It taught me that behind every admission number is a real person with a real story.

From there, I moved into business development, eventually reaching the role of National VP of Business Development. But no matter the title, the mission stayed the same: help more people access the care they need.

What I've Learned

The facilities that make the biggest impact are the ones that never lose sight of their "why." They build systems and teams around their mission, not just their bottom line.

Growth and purpose aren't opposites. When you grow the right way — with integrity, strong partnerships, and a commitment to quality care — everyone benefits.

"The best business development strategy in behavioral health is simple: genuinely care about outcomes, build real relationships, and let your results speak for themselves."
